Things started well, then it all declined

Pros

Felt good to work at a local place that was helping people.

Cons

Management always had a new story for why we were short staffed or why things were delayed. Then we were promised salary reviews to get up to market rates. That turned into a massive outsourcing to India. We had to train our replacements. We were lied to multiple times about transparency, the purpose of outsourcing and other things. OhioHealth said it wasn't sending any work to India, but we had rooms full of people in India that we had to train remotely. OhioHealth let a lot of local, loyal expertise leave the building. Now some unknown number of people in India have access to all OhioHealth patient medical records. I'm sure they won't admit this publicly, but it is true. I have no issue with people in India or anywhere else. But as a whole, they don't have the best reputation for following the law or not selling information.

Pros

Very few...met a handful of wonderful, kind people in varying departments other than my own over my few years there. Access to general medical treatment is helpful if you become ill or need to see a doctor for something like a sinus infection or something minor...

Cons

Where to begin? Everything I was told about my position when I was hired was a complete lie. Numerous bosses and supervisors in several years, 70% turnover rate in several departments, including mine. HR reps were switched each 6 -8 months. Never seen anything like this in my entire career. Worst human beings I've ever been subjected to in my life. Leaders who lie through their teeth to associates' faces, discussing employees personal information with other leaders and employees, gossiping and outright lying about them to get them fired, setting employees up to fire them for no reason other than to ruin their reputation (OH is an at-will state; employers don't need a reason to let an employee go) - you name it - these practices exist throughout OhioHealth. And it's rampant. OH claims to continue to be listed in one of the Top 100 companies to work for, but the surveys the employees receive to fill out are SO skewed that there's no way to answer them in a way that doesn't paint OhioHealth in the best possible light, and there's also no place to add any kind negative of feedback; only positive feedback is accepted. In my several years of employment there, I spoke to scores of unhealthy, unhappy employees there. Multiple senior level leaders who were very good, honest, kind people who worked there for a number of years were either being forced out, severely demoted for embarrassing reasons (the real reasons were because they wouldn't go along with the slimy practices that had since become a daily routine there), and it was only getting uglier.

Pros

I wish that I could give negative stars.

Cons

An associate at OhioHealth, who left for a new opportunity, was completely ignored by their VP as they were leaving. That same VP would not shake the associates hand because the associate made a personal decision to pursue a role that better aligns with their career goals. This is indicative to the no-class operation that has become OhioHealth. The conduct by senior management is inexcusable and frankly uncalled for. This is in addition to the two awkward conversations that I have had with vendors about negative comments directed toward me from current senior level staff. Sadly, I have not uttered a single negative comment about OhioHealth until now. At this point, I will only share the truth with anyone looking at OhioHealth for a new role and I plan to fully educate my peers within my industry segment about the numerous lies that HR used to get myself to accept the position that I had and unkept promises that were used to keep me in the role.
