Pros

+ Leadership is supportive, encouraging and keep us well informed + Since Jeff Roe has become CEO, the corporate values are influencing what we do every day. + Good pay and benefits + Telecommute + Continued learning and professional training

Cons

+ We are still working on breaking down silos to improve our internal work experience + Telecommuters don't get all of the same opportunities as quickly as on campus employees. EX: Lean classes, Project Committees + From the bottom of the pyramid there appears to be an excessive amount of management + Technology department is not as agile enough to keep up with our needs

You will see more and more alignment from these values. You make a great point, agility is really important in order for Premera to respond to an ever changing landscape. Pros

- The coworkers are wonderful. If you only had to deal with your peers, this would be a good place to work. - Management is starting to look at how to improve trust and overall culture, but the changes are slow in coming with little evidence of completion

Cons

- Date over quality driven (dates to meet executive bonus goals are emphasized over delivering a quality solution) - Management wants to look good rather than emphasize good work - Employees are reminded regularly that this is an "at will" company (emphasizing that we should be grateful for our jobs) - More money is spent on developing brand image than on most operational team salaries - Trust is low above your peers - Problems are met with buzzwords and catchphrases rather than solutions - Issues/problems are not raised (or are whitewashed) because it would be contrary to our image

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Especially regarding staffing changes and restructuring that has taken place over the last 18 months. Organizational changes are challenging for many reasons. Your helpful review shows us that we have more room to grow our communication and culture. We hope that you'll continue to share your perspective with your Leader and Human Resources as we continue to evolve. As employees, we each have a responsibility to continue the conversation and contribute to the shaping of our culture. We welcome the feedback and hope that you're planning to attend an upcoming employee forum!

Pros

It’s a good place to be if you want to be part of an organization going through a lot of needed change and you want to help with that change. We have a lot of new leaders and new employees bringing good ideas and challenging the status quo. We have new values that we are trying to live, more clarity on communications and a new focus on how we can improve customers’ lives by making healthcare work better. Pay is competitive and benefits are really good, including a 401K and we still have a pension. We even have more employee forums where we are able to share our thoughts.

Cons

Like most companies, we still have our issues too. Yes, we have leadership and employee issues in pockets of the company that are slower to adapt to the change making it difficult for some of us that want change. It is a burden on some of us as we need to pick up the extra work, but we are seeing more being done about it to address these concerns. We don’t always know if we are heard as communication is not always the best, but we know they are trying.

We are happy to share that additional employee training (including leadership training) is ongoing. While we work hard each day to make healthcare work better, financial health is important as well. Thank you for sharing that you find value in both health and retirement benefits. We appreciate your thoughtful review.
