Pros

Great mission! Everyone was very committed and interested in making the greatest impact and building relationships with the school partners, tutors and students.

Cons

Mid-year launch in a new region is very difficult. Data drives everything but doesn't always make sense when there's a shortened time line for completion and delivery to key stakeholders. Abbreviated schedule wasn't readily available and made the job more tedious that it needed to be.

Pros

Work/life balance is a wonderful thing to see displayed and encouraged among full-time staff. Most people within the organization have good intentions and mean well.

Cons

1)The organization is undergoing a significant leadership transition and it remains to be seen where the organization goes from here. 2) Organization has grown too rapidly over the past few years. 3) Not diverse. 4) Organization does not invest in its junior level staff. 5) Leadership transitions have left a bad taste in many people's mouths about the organization and especially leadership. 6) Decisions do not always seem student focused.

Pros

Reading Partners has a great mission and vision. They seek to ensure success for elementary aged students in low income/diverse communities by engaging community members to volunteer.

Cons

A very "top-heavy" org--in my 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, I have not seen this many higher-ups. Several Executives that I worked with were very power hungry.
