Pros

Good benefits. Flexible schedules. Nice, friendly co-workers. Decent pay. Great emphasis on job skills training. Great IT network. Wonderful campus.

Cons

Everything is "students first" (they are an academic institution) but sometimes things should take priority over that. "Hurry up and wait" is the overall mantra. Greater emphasis is on self-improvement and personal life, which can be a good thing, and ITS work is second. Projects can be placed on "hold" until key personnel are available (which could be months away). ITS Management talks the talk, but won't walk the walk. Project management is weak. PM Process is set up but changes on a whim. No one is required to follow the process, not even the different ITS departments. The perception is ITS vs the SLU Colleges (academia). All of the different SLU colleges want to do things on their own and not have to go through ITS. Makes for a tougher row to hoe to get things done. Fr. Biondi needs to get the entire SLU University on the same page and doing the same thing. Middle managers and above attend meetings with their laptops so that they can multi-task during the meeting. What that is saying is, their work is more important than the meeting they are attending. So some RESPECT and leave the laptop in your office. If you have work to do, skip the meeting.

Pros

academic environment, the jesuit mission, great engineering faculty, lots of opportunities for undergraduate research in engineering, small student to faculty ratio

Cons

Saint Louis University administration can be a hassle to deal with sometimes, as a student and participant in purchasing it seems overly complicated

Pros

It's a great university. It gives you a chance to balance social life and work life due to hours optional.

Cons

Sometimes hours can be early or late at the Rec Center and promotions are rough sometimes. Overall pretty easy but low pay.
