Pros

The culture of the company is nice, it promotes a one team spirit and making our Members lives better. They heavily promote working as a team and as one. Most people are friendly there are some who don't speak or are very dry it makes me wonder how they even got hired. The pay is great, I think they offer a very competitive pay and the benefits are outstanding. The employee perks are also very nice, always getting some kind of surprise cash bonus or treat or product. Nice trips and/or outings depending on your department.

Cons

There is little to no room for growth or advancement at least in some areas of the CU. If you are lucky to get that growth or promotion be very happy but also be prepared to wait a long time to get. The growth and advancement is is very slow. You see people working in the same role for 5, 10 or 15 years plus before advancing. Office politics are heavy, manager favorites or pets are also present. They are quick to demote you if you aren't cutting it, so don't get too comfortable in your new promotion it could be taken away in the blink of an eye.

We no longer practice the one-team philosophy.

Pros

The sky is the limit with service standards. If its the right thing to do we are supported and do it.

Cons

Ineffective, lazy, lack training, abuse of authority amongst managers and above. The buzz word is "engaged." Managers and above need a reality check, start working and stop assuming that you know what AM and below needs. Management team makes decisions based on how they look, not the Member experience. I don't know the last time a manager of branches and mcc owned a situation. Rather then investigating branch and mcc mgmt service issues the mgmt moves hard tasks to other departments so talk times are lower in mcc and branches expect back office to own complex Member situations.

Pros

Other department's culture may be fine. CEO is a fine gentleman.

Cons

Way too much politics in the IT infrastructure department. IT infrastructure top management abuses power and has lost trust among the IT employees. Assistant managers are nothing more than puppets to the VP. No managers here, only assistant managers reporting to VP. The only manager got demoted to assistant manager. If you are innovative and/or driven, your time is limited. The mediocre employees will not only survive but thrive. IT VPs and assistant managers have their own pet employees. No matter how severe or how many complains are against those pet employees they are never been even warned. Organization is losing talented and dedicated workers so frequently. Once a great place to work now it has become one of the worst places to work.
