Pros

Fully remote, cell phone paid for I stayed because they were flexible and the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. The people I worked with on my immediate team were great. I’m very glad I’m not with the company anymore.

Cons

The big software that they tout will be able to scale the business is poorly built. Doing research on how clients are using it (or in reality not using it) and doing 1-on-1 interviews to fully understand how they as a business owner would use it opened my eyes that these big numbers and valuations of what the company will be worth if they hit 100,000 clients will never happen. They tout thousands of clients but so many of them are just franchise locations that didn’t even have a say in having their website built by Scorpion and don’t pay for any additional services. They’ve been in business for twenty years and only work with service based companies. At what point have they reached out to all the prospects or how many businesses in the same profession can they ethically do the marketing for in the same territory? Especially with franchises there really are so few that don’t need any e-commerce on their website. When I first started it was just owned by one guy. For better or worse he could do what he wanted and steer the company in that direction. Once he sold part of it to an investment company, pleasing the overlords became the undercurrent to deciding which metrics needed to be worked on the most. I’m not sure there’s another job where working somewhere for four years without a raise is normal.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're glad you had a supportive team and appreciated the flexibility in your role, though we’re sorry to hear that other aspects didn’t reflect the workplace we strive to create. Your feedback about our software, client relationships—especially within franchise models—and long-term scalability is valuable. We’re continuing to evolve the platform based on input from both clients and internal teams to better meet the real-world needs of the businesses we serve. We also recognize your concerns around the company’s direction. As we grow, our focus remains on delivering lasting client value and aligning our strategy with long-term success. On compensation, we know how important it is for people to feel recognized and rewarded for their contributions. It’s something we’re actively working to improve across the board, and your feedback is a helpful reminder of why that matters. Thanks again for your candor and the time you spent at Scorpion. Please feel free to reach out to me at AmyL@scorpion.co if you’d be willing to continue this conversation. If not, we appreciate your contributions and wish you all the best in what’s ahead.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience so far as a member of our sales team! We’re thrilled to hear that you’re finding strong support from leadership and enjoying the flexibility of hybrid and remote work. Our products are what make Scorpion great for our clients, and we’re thrilled to hear you see the value in them. We appreciate your note about the role requiring hard work—you're right, this isn’t a typical 9–5, and it’s great to see that kind of drive and commitment acknowledged as a positive. While it’s true that we don’t currently offer a 401(k), we do provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes premium health coverage, flexible time off, employee equity, and more. We truly appreciate your feedback — it helps guide our ongoing evaluation of benefits as we grow. If there’s anything else you’d like to add or provide more feedback about, please feel free to reach out to me at amyL@scorpion.co. Thanks again for being part of what makes Scorpion a great place to grow.

Pros

Overwhelming majority of people I’ve met are amazing. The company is constantly striving for improvement and I’ve never once felt bored or stale in my role. We are given a ton of flexibility with needs and attending to personal life matters. And in my experiences, you are given what you put into the company. A lot of folks who I know think less highly of the company are ones who would show up, do what was asked, nothing more, and be upset when they weren’t moving upward. But I’ve watched very hungry folks get rewarded for making themselves clear front runners in their respective teams.

Cons

We’re heading a direction that seems to be geared towards over correction of needing consistency. What made being on marketing so fun was getting to formulate unique strategies with each client and their unique needs. Our newest product offering has taken away a lot of agency, and makes our role feel a lot more robotic. This has resulted in a lot of turnover in the recent year or so, which doesn’t seem to be getting much attention from high level leadership.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share such a well-rounded and thoughtful review. We’re grateful to hear that you’ve experienced strong collaboration, flexibility, and continued growth in your role—that’s the kind of environment we strive to create, and it means a lot to know it’s had a meaningful impact on your experience here. We also appreciate you calling out areas where we can improve. We’ve been really excited about product launches, but as a director over a team of account managers, it’s valuable to get your pulse check on how our account managers are interacting with the new tools coming out. Finding the right balance between consistency and creativity is key, and there’s definitely room to improve. On the topic of career growth, that’s a great callout—it’s not enough to make changes if they don’t ultimately feel like progress. We’re continuing to work toward clearer, more reliable development paths, and your perspective underscores how important it is to keep refining those efforts and communicating them more clearly. If you’re open to us reaching out or providing more insight, please reach out to me at AmyL@Scorpion.co. Thanks again for being candid. We’re better for it.
