Pros

Multiple lunchrooms to avoid your team while eating, if you even get to take a lunch.

Cons

Micromanagement, a complete lack of empathy past middle management, exceptionally high churn, processes being built entirely around the fact that everyone but management rotates every few years. During my group onboarding training, a woman asked why there wasn't any diversity among upper management. They walked her out during our lunch break.

Pros

Coworkers and patients are wonderful!

Cons

Shady and backhanded management. Pay is above average but not when considering the amount of hell you are put through. Families are always given what they demand even if the nurse or tech has been hit, cussed out, or spit at. Management threatens, blackmails, and will fire at the drop of a feather for no reason. Retaliation is huge. They work the nurses and techs like they are slaves so that their mobility board will look good instead of hiring enough help to get total care patients up. Staff frequently goes without lunch and/or breaks. Certain staff members are given preferential treatment. Travelers are brought in to cover up the staff shortages due to the NEVER ENDING REVOLVING DOOR!! The travelers are not questioned on their knowledge. Some are good but others have no idea what kind of critical care situations they walking into. Because of a lack of training on high acuity patients, mistakes occur.

Pros

The benefits here at Select Medical are great -- great PTO, pretty good healthcare, and the coworkers are pretty good.

Cons

We were understaffed, and I didn't get a lot of training. I'm only getting it now that I'm a year in with the company.
