Company is Crumbling

Pros

As many other reviewers have mentioned, the people are Shift Paradigm's greatest asset. I have worked with such incredible teams of driven, talented and genuine humans.

Cons

These same amazing people are not being valued by the company and it has been evident with the multiple layoffs and resignations. Transparency has declined from leadership in the last few years and it has become difficult to trust the messages and promises from above.

Thank you for your review. We understand your perception of the state of the company, but we need to clarify a few things in your review that are not true. Transparency is at the forefront of many of our activities and is a priority as it has been for the last few years. We hold all company meetings at least once a month with various topics in the pursuit of transparency. Also once a month we offer more intimate meetings with the key executives where all employees are asked and encouraged to send in questions. I am sure you participated in those during your time here. Layoffs are not evidence of us undervaluing our employees, it is a business decision based on economics. We have been transparent about that too. Our commitment to the departing employees has been evident in our approach and in the packages we have offered during those layoffs. We wish you the best in your next position.

Pros

The people you get to work with are incredible. Not only are they good people, but they are smart and extremely clever. Always striving to do what is best for their clients.

Cons

The company leadership is rapidly turning toxic. Allowing clients to dictate way too much internally.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. There is no service business that doesn’t struggle with managing client expectations. We are no exception, and one of the things we are most proud of is that our client NPS score has risen to over 70, which has been a massive improvement. While we never want to let clients dictate, as you say, the need to be responsive to clients and their intricacies is critically important. The macroeconomic environment has made it very challenging inside of our client’s organizations, and we are proud that we are serving our clients through some very challenging times. Thank you for the compliment that we have incredible people here at Shift Paradigm who go above and beyond. We agree. We have made it a top priority to provide a positive and supportive working culture for our employees and to empower them to share their voice with leadership. We continue to learn and grow and are proud of the culture we are fostering here at Shift Paradigm.

Not what it once was...

Pros

There are some good people and some amazing clients.

Cons

Where do I begin? The new CEO wants this to be a traditional agency due to her past experience. There are plenty of those though and she's watering down what made it special which that it *was* a performance marketing consultancy. She has hired several of her friends and it's now a joke amongst employees whenever an executive position opens because without a doubt, it will be...another one of her friends. Since the new CEO came on board, there was a major pause within the company's DEIB efforts. It's really too bad. Since the acquisition, the org has been a rotating door of talent. The company is quite literally bleeding good talent and doesn't listen to any feedback to stop it.

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate it, and do read every post we receive. These posts are reviewed and discussed with members of senior leadership, not just by HR. You mentioned the hiring of Liz's "friends". It is very typical that anytime a CEO or senior leader joins a company they bring in people they’ve worked with before. They do this for two reasons - one, they are trusted people who have been successful before, and two, it provides a recognition that these people would work for this leader again, a measure that we all want for our senior leaders. Often any leader that joins an organization and doesn’t bring people generally doesn’t believe in that organization or has issues in their leadership style that precludes them from doing just that. Again, thank you for the feedback. We have refined and believe in our value proposition in the market, and we look forward to 2023. We wish you well in all that is ahead for you.
