Pros

They are very flexible and supportive. It's great to be able to set your own schedule and commute radius. I feel like a grown up who is trusted to do my job without being micromanaged, but also like if I need something, my manager will be there for me. I also feel that their expectations for their employees are realistic and fair. I don't ever feel that things are being demanded of me that I did not sign up for.

Cons

The hourly wage looks great on face, but factoring in unpaid prep work (of which there is a ton) and unpaid commute time (usually around an hour of commuting for every two hours of teaching), you start to realize you're being paid absolute peanuts--probably less than minimum wage, actually. The work is also super unpredictable. Sometimes you have to fend potential new students off with a stick (they never expect you to take on more than you've specified, but they'll let you know when they're desperate), and other times you won't get any new assignments for months. It's impossible to actually sustain yourself on this job alone, but it's also very hard to make it work as a supplementary gig, because in order for the families to be happy working with you, you have to have tons and tons of flexibility, which you will not have while working multiple jobs.

I know that doing a great job with your students requires work outside the lesson, especially during your first few programs as you get to know the curriculum. We are taking your comments into consideration to see how we can address the situation. Your feedback matters and we appreciate you taking the time to share it. Best, Greg President & Co-Founder

Pros

Super flexible hours, good management, lots of communication, strong starting pay.

Cons

The only opportunity for advancement in pay is based on the hours you get (which are largely random and seasonal, but that is expected). The training is a bit dated too, but there is talk of it being refurbished!

Pros

Decent material, though there are some errors. The outline for lessons is helpful.

Cons

- Pay is not on par with competitors in the same area. - Technology is decent, but could use some tweaking. - Perhaps increase frequency of pay (instead of bi-weekly).

Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate it very much. Currently we are working on a better process to compensate tutors for the work that each of you do. Stay tuned. In addition, I'll make sure your feedback on the material proofing is heard. Best, Greg President & Co-Founder
