Great company that makes a difference

Pros

They really care. They provide you with lesson plans but encourage you to tailor them to the students, which you need to do, especially with college essay coaching. It can take time to be matched with a student, but when you are, the students are amazing. They really support students and parents, not just in the college essay coaching but the academic tutoring. Everyone I've worked with at StudyPoint has been fantastic.

I schedule my own hours. I don't have to do any advertising.

Cons

They take a large cut. Bad incentive mechanism. There are large jumps in cost scale with minimal gain in pay. Essentially, you are discouraged to continue working there as you get more experience. If you want to get paid more, you increase in a tier, but this leads to being way more costly to students, hence less hours.
