Decent pay and benefits for the job title.

Poor management staff. I was treated awful from day 1 before I even started working and it has gotten worse every day. My manager had a chip on her shoulder because she was supposedly overworked and proceeded to tell me all about how her life was so bad because she had to work so many hours. She told me: "we work all the holidays so don't think about asking for time off". I have to be here and so do you. (sic) I have never worked anywhere as a staff therapist where I had to work a holiday. Duh! We are not front line care staff. This "manager" has no people skills and is the worst manager I have ever had in a work situation. Bad workplace dynamics verging on harrassment! She's never nice and always in a bad mood.

You will be pleased to hear that we have been working on the issues you raised, specifically communication, improving the new hire experience, and recognition. We began surveying our new hires a year ago and implemented a variety of improvements, with more to come. We’ve also established a bi-monthly ESOP newsletter to improve communication and just used it to launch a new Employee Spotlight program. Not enough support when starting a new position in a new environment. I was basically dropped off in a building without much direction

Thank you for sharing your experience. Your feedback on your co-workers is consistent with what we hear from others. I am sorry you did not feel supported when you joined our team. In the last year, we centralized our recruitment and onboarding function and have been working on creating a positive experience for new hires. We survey all new hires and review results regularly for themes and improvement opportunities. Our survey results have improved as we have strengthened the recruitment and onboarding processes, and we’re now in the 89th percentile for satisfaction. But, clearly that was not your experience.
