Pros

Weekly pay, benefits, cool managers and other career opportunities. I mean, it's on the UIC campus (student center) to be exact. The student la are really nice and the are is great. I don't live far from the university so my public transportation commute is great. By all major train lines and buses.

Cons

Just about everything except what I listed up above. The co-workers are just full of attitude, nobody likes to speak and be friendly. The breaks are ridiculous. You get written up for every little thing and you're supposed to be trained for a month but they throw you on the floor after the first two.

Pros

No pros at all...terrible call center Bedbugs run wild and free and even when it has been reported to staff no one takes any action to clean it up. Cell phones are not allows yet I've seen reps making personal calls. If you need a job then they will hire anybody just make sure you can pass a drug test.

Cons

Managers are incompetent... The schedules constantly change Minimal pay for stressful work Cell phone, paper and pens are prohibited Oh and the center is infested with bed bugs!!! You have to share a half of a locker with someone else!

Pros

Offers a wide range of programs for people who are blind or visually-impaired. Top-notch Low Vision Clinic to evaluate how persons with vision loss can maximize quality of remaining vision. Has contracts to provide low vision* clients who have average intelligence and above-average computer skills with commercial call center agent jobs. *depends on degree of vision loss

Cons

Many top management lack business skills and lag behind in emotional intelligence. Insufficient human capital to carry out effort needed to achieve excellence in any of the 29-31 programs provided for clients. Strategies to progress toward main, historic Mission goal, i.e., self-sufficiency for people who are blind or visually impaired, are non-existent. Financial development results are abysmal for a 100+ year-old agency with this social service mission.
