Pros

Felxible wrok schedule when you aren't traveling 75-95% of the time. Will allow you to add spouse/partner to insurance. There is a HIGH turnover in the LGD division so you may have an opportunity to land an SIC or PM spot.

Cons

POOR communication (if any). Too many chiefs and not enough indians (org structure is such that you do not now who your boss truly is). Low pay compared to other corporations in same industry. They throw breakfasts, luncheons and barristas at you to show you are "appreciated", but when it comes time for a raise, you get 2%...IF YOU ARE LUCKY!!! There is a HIGH turnover in the LGD division!! People are burning out, getting fed up or both!!

Pros

You get a free meal once a month, and remote work if you are allowed.

Cons

Billable Hours , must have 90 hours or 12 days of billable per month or you are questioned. And if you take vacation, well, you just need to work that much harder to catch up when you return. As that is not an excuse. Sometimes I have record myself working remote because management does not understand computers or IT. So I often have to show them what I do, or prove my work and why I did what I did. The product has so many defects that assisting clients troubleshooting is also recorded, and then I share it to teach others who work here. Job is also trial by fire, and dont worry if you know nothing about computers or IT. Cause management says it is not a requirement. ICs are looked down here, so if you talk to development or networking they tend to question everything because most ICs and PMs do not understand computers, servers, networking, VPNs, etc... They do not recognize all holidays. Veterans Day is one, you are working. But your clients will not be..

Pros

Laid back culture. Everyone is generally nice. The work is not difficult.

Cons

Most teams are supporting legacy products while trying to move to newer technologies and it's not going well. The pay for developers is 25%-50% below what you can get in other cities. They say they're working on making salaries competitive but it's just talk. I'm actually skeptical of applicants we get because why would someone who's good apply knowing the pay is so low? You get what you pay for. There isn't much room for growth. Most people don't seem interested in career growth and just want to do their job and go home. Middle management does not seem to know what they're doing. They are constantly changing the goals. Tyler spent hundreds of millions of dollars on an acquisition with not much due diligence at all yet they skimp on developer salaries. They're a joke in that regard.
