Pros

Remote. Sometimes you don’t work the same day as your manager and can get to breathe. Some customers were very sweet. (One out of every hundred or so)

Cons

That’s right. For the first 3 months you can’t use sick time or PTO. You’re making 20-22 an hour to get screamed at nonstop. Aaand you can’t go to the bathroom outside of your 30 or 15 min breaks or else you’ll be put into online status and lose pay. No one gets two weekend days off and you’ll most likely work 1pm-10pm if you’re in EST. Reported my manager to HR and asked to have another manager (we had about 10 on the team) and was told that wasn’t an option despite me feeling uncomfortable and targeted. Managers read all your private teams chats. Do not say anything negative about them ever.

Pros

* This company has excellent core values, and they do their best to incorporate those values in everything they do. * The level of diversity within the company is the best I've seen so far. * Medical, dental, vision are all great benefits. Two weeks of vacation with an option to purchase an additional week, one floating holiday to be used whenever desired, and access to mental health care that is included in insurance coverage. They also provide sick & safe pay that is accrued bi-weekly, allowing for doctors appointments, and mental health days. All awesome perks.

Cons

My individual site did not embody the core values of the company. Upper management was only concerned with production rates and productivity at the cost of coming into a hostile work environment with zero team work, unethical behavior, and passive-aggressive communication. Any effort to improve this negativity with meetings or team work building events was thwarted by upper management. You do not get the sense that management cares even slightly about the well-being of each individual employee or even the site as a whole. While I would recommend working for the company, be very careful about the energy that exists at the site level. Some of the U.S. Bank locations are very much the opposite of the positive image the bank portrays.

Pros

Hybrid and remote positions can provide good work life balance if you can find one of those positions available.

Cons

Senior leadership talks about how much they value their employees but in reality you are just a number. In the last 12 months the positions of more than 250 long time, valuable employees have been eliminated. Employees who have been committed and loyal for more than 20 years were shown no loyalty from USB in return when their positions were eliminated to make way for employees coming on from a recent acquisition/merger. Many of the individuals that were let go were key people in various business lines. The ones you counted on for training and guidance. There is no formal training at USB in many areas so you have to rely on the expertise of your peers. It will take time for the bank to recover from the amount of experience they lost. Many who are still here no longer feel their jobs are secure. Constant changes to processes and procedures are made and often times these changes are released too soon with minimal training.
