Pros

Great office locations and great sense of ‘in it together’ between most people Good internal systems. We’re all on MacBooks and have good software Pay is good and benefits competitive (at least in the US) Lots of travel opportunity for a lot of us

Cons

CEO is good but not all the exec team have the same respect, one exec specifically. She has made some big changes which haven’t gone down well. In sales, we have little time for internal support teams but even less with the way some of them are run. CTO and CFO are both leaving at the same time. CFO was great by all accounts and well respected. His departure seems to be a vote against the res of the exec team. There’s often a lot of hiring of friends from the c-suite which has benefits but it’s happened too much and means that some people are so protected they can do whatever they want, morals aside. Some execs have fired their direct reports and hired only people they know so some of my colleagues can’t see progression. Finance is probably the only exception. It’s a company of change. It will be financially successful, but it would be nice to enjoy the journey with a leadership we can trust and support. It’s close but a few people spoil it and people know they will be cut for speaking out.

Pros

Finally starting to see some real progress with this leadership team. They are very personable, very open, clear and honest in their communications. My co-workers are fun and our customers are super smart and fun to work with too. I do work almost round the clock but I really enjoy my work and am excited by our innovation that we are delivering.

Cons

Heavy lift on transformation due to previous leadership letting the company run down. The impression that I got was that the previous leaders across UserTesting and UserZoom cashed out and just stop caring.

Pros

Very old tech stacks (plural), so: mature and refined, including DevOps stuff. Teammates were good. Smart and skilled, and friendly and nice to work with.

Cons

Very old tech stacks (plural), so: a little decrepit, with some legacy code, and dark corners and knowledge blind spots as most long-time engineers are no longer with the company. Two companies sort of merged not too long ago, so that meant two different codebases needing to integrate and work together. That was very challenging, but we mostly were getting it to work.
