Pros

I can't seem to think of any pros

Cons

Maxar protects sexual predators. Nepotism is rampant. It does not matter how much evidence you have of harassment, ethics and HR will side with the predator, and you will face the consequences. not a suitable place for women to work. HR and ethics don't appear to be qualified for their jobs. Not sure why my previous review was deleted, as I only stated facts. Makes Maxar look very bad. the company is very much designed to cater to patriarchal standards. bottom line- women: do not work here. it's a safe haven for predators.

Company isn’t what it used to be

Pros

There are some amazing people here and management really tries to work with you in cases of illness, family matters, etc. The benefits are also really good in comparison to a lot of other companies. Health insurance is reasonable, there’s 401k matching, and they have the Nextera program, so you can have a PCP for free.

Cons

The pay is not there. I’ve been with the company since the Digital Globe days (so more than 5 years) and would not be able to be the sole provider for my family if we fell on hard times. With the recent acquisition, merit raises were frozen until spring of this year, so nothing was adjusted for inflation. They are also putting a lot of products on the chopping block, including ones that would allow for upward mobility and career expansion. I also worry about the CEO - during a town hall he was asked how to boost morale, especially when people are overpaid and overworked, and his answer was basically ‘work harder so we can keep getting check from the new owners.’ That didn’t sit well with me at all. Finally, they are doing away with remote work, even though many of us did quite well with it for the last three years and it is a better situation for our families.
