We’re glad that you see what’s going well at Vida Health, and we’ll keep working to provide the right environment and tools for growth and success. Thanks for posting your thoughts on goal-setting for the business. This can be a challenge during times of high growth, but the company hasn’t lost sight of what made us successful: a great product underpinned by innovative technology and phenomenal people.

Pros

Vida is a mission-driven company along with talented & driven team that makes you feel that anything is possible The company is growing fast and seriously amazing place to work. Very positive workplace full of kind, talented, hardworking people. Lots of career opportunities and freedom, no micromanagement, supportive and accessible leadership, and relatively flat structure. The culture is the perfect balance of professional but fun. Everyone who works here is motivated to bring the company to new heights and it inspires me every day. Employee and customer-centric culture with genuine leaders who truly care about doing the right thing for customers and employees.

Cons

It's not necessarily a con, since this is a start-up environment, and you are working very closely with lot of stakeholders, sometimes it could be stressful. The work is challenging & demanding but worth it.

Thank you for your appreciation of our mission and culture. Your comments are super motivating! We agree that those elements make Vida a special work environment. As with any successful startup, there are times when the workload is challenging. Please talk to your manager or the leadership team if it ever gets to be too stressful. We strive to maintain a healthy work-life balance, and we want to be vigilant in this area.

Pros

Vida Health app is great and our mission to help people is fantastic.

Cons

Unsure what is going on with the company. Talent retention is at its low. We are losing great talent one after another. HR is managed with no experience. Accountant team is practically non-existent now after resignations. IT does not exist. Constantly hear complaints about the company while nobody is addressing the issues. Culture is being fixed by "after work hangouts" makes it seem like leadership does not want to waste any time building culture during work hours when employees are being "paid". Nobody attends these hangouts including the leadership team.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. We’re happy that you think highly of Vida’s mission and product. As with most startups, we’ve experienced our share of iterating and growing from mistakes, but today we’re well positioned to take on the market. As for talent retention, it’s actually quite high by Bay Area standards. Our average employee tenure is higher than industry average in the area. This year we’ve had to make a few tough choices and part with people who weren’t a good fit with the company. But we go out of our way to reward high-performing employees, and they’re staying. A good social culture is important at Vida and we’ve recently organized company events: Giants games, sailing on the Bay, group fitness classes, etc. These events get good turn-out. And while we’d love to have every employee participate in every event, we also know people need to spend time with families and friends.
