Just look on Guru

Pros

Very clear and defined process. Anything you may need can be found online on Guru. Female CEO. Ok-ish benefits. Bribed with gift cards.

Cons

Tons of middle management that won't support you; but who needs management when you can just look at Guru. Sales team is a complete boys club and will promote based on favoritism. Unsure about the larger organization but sales is a revolving door. Always putting people on PIP, bribing people to leave with low severance packages, and constantly interviewing for the always available vacant positions. Sales managers applaud reps for working weekends, holidays, after hours, etc. Will not disclose during interview process that you will be asked to cover the team during holidays. Ask you to pick up leads/deals during off hours and get zero commission split. HR seems to be clueless and make it clear they are there to support the company not the employees and openly side with leadership on any concerns regardless if they have heard your side of things. Constant changes in company direction, culture, product, etc. Wages on the lower side of industry standards. If you do even make your commission, the company always find a way to make sure you don't get your full OTE. WPE must have a referral program with Amazon because WPE is so quick to throw Amazon gift cards your way instead of giving you a raise. Amazon gift cards for everyone!

Disappointing Management and Lack of Support for Employees

Pros

My coworkers at WP Engine were talented, supportive, and dedicated. However, management was lacking, often unresponsive, and dismissive of employee concerns.

Cons

I worked at WP Engine and was ultimately disappointed by the management and the lack of support for employees. My direct manager was often sexist, difficult to reach, and not a good teacher. Whenever I raised an issue, it was dismissed without discussion, and my questions were rarely answered. There were clear instances of preferential treatment towards men, which created a toxic work environment. When I tried to address these concerns with my manager, his attitude towards me worsened, and he became unresponsive, even missing scheduled meetings to discuss the issues. WP Engine lacks a proper system for employees to raise concerns about their managers, which only adds to the frustration. Until the company improves its management practices and provides better support for employees, I cannot recommend it as a great place to work.

Laid off and then removed money from my 401k

Pros

I enjoyed the role and my direct manager was great. The benefits were also quite nice, along with the PTO policy.

Cons

The company was aware that my position was being made redundant for quite some time and assured me that they would be moving me to a separate role. I spent a lot of time and energy preparing for this, but when the time came, I was laid off without notice rather than given the promised transfer. A few months afterward, the company sent me an email to let me know that due to an error on their side, they would be removing money from my (fully vested) 401k. Not a good look. Having good benefits, culture, and values is completely negated if you treat your employees like disposable garbage.

Thank you for sharing our feedback, as it guides our growth. We apologize for the error resulting in the reduction of your 401(k) employer match. As you know, we offer employees a dollar for dollar 4 percent 401(k) match. 401(k) plans are highly regulated with applicable IRS guidelines. Having a “qualified plan” is what allows us to make contributions with special tax treatment. WP Engine explored all avenues before processing the correction. Regrettably, we do not have the discretion to overlook excess contributions that do not adhere to the 401(k) plan documents. We wish you well in your future endeavors.
