Pros

Inbound is easy and they sent candy. Good for a first time work at home or call center....

Cons

but if you have worked others you know better. This is a sales position dressed up as an opportunity to help people get a job.

We are sorry to hear that you feel your experience at Windy City Call Center was not the best. Please be assured that our inbound call center job is not a sales job. However, there are clear targets that must be met. As with any job, there are metrics and production goals to ensure that work is being completed. In this case, we are not signing up individuals, but helping them to complete their application and the background check. It is important that we meet the targets our clients have requested and we are upfront and honest about this on our job posting, in training and during the interview. We send several forms of communication to detail the job. Ultimately, our job is to guide applicants through the application process. We do not "sale" jobs. In addition, Windy City complies with all federal laws as it relates to breaks. Per the Department of Labor, employees should receive a break if they work 5 hours and 45 minutes a day.; not every 4 hours. These breaks should be paid. All of our full-time employees, receive an hour for lunch, and two paid 15 minute breaks. These breaks are communicated clearly to new hires. Furthermore, reps are provided paid time at the beginning of their shift to prepare their systems and check emails. We regret that you were unaware of these things, but these are clear and ethical business practices that we use. This information is also clearly communicated in training. Finally, we do offer a comprehensive benefits package and health plan. In fact, our reps benefit from matching 401K options, increases at the 90 day, 6 month and yearly makr, and healthcare plans for both the employee and their family members are available. We understand that you may have not enjoyed the experience, and encourage you to follow-up with any questions you may have had. We strive to be an ethical, integral and honest employer for all employees.

We are sorry to hear that you were unable to start with our company. We value honesty, professionalism and follow-up very much so as a company. There are very few reasons an employee would be offered a job, and then not allowed to start. The number one reason is that there was a discrepancy between the computer system results submitted and the actual results we found once our technician called to do a tech check. This discrepancy often prevents an employee from starting as their system is not equipped to run our dialer. Second, we will rescind our offer if after hire you failed to attend orientation or tech check. Without completing these tasks, we are unable to verify that you are ready for training. It is important to note that you are paid to attend these activities, and failing to attend demonstrates major red flags to the new hires readiness for working in a remote setting. We should also add that we contact the employee several times prior to determining we must rescind our offer. We also offer a deadline to respond, and if the new hire fails to meet the deadline we are unable to proceed. Finally, the third reason our offer would be rescinded pre-training is that the new hire was rude to the trainer, the technician or our staff. We value integrity and excellent communication amongst staff members. If a team member already feels that lines of respect have been crossed, we cannot proceed with our offer. We would be glad to discuss your particular experience at any time, and do wholeheartedly validate that only in these three instances would someone be prevented from starting with our company post-offer. By doing this, we in fact continue to represent the highest standard of professionalism in the industry. Our ability to attract and maintain a professional staff is because we only hire those in the team who exemplify that level of professionalism as well. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Virtual Phone Rep

Pros

You get to work from home and when you get hired they send you a container full of candy.

Cons

Goals unrealistic as far as getting people to stay on the phone to discuss school. During my interviews I was told that this was a customer service job but in reality it's telemarketing. Also I was told using my MAC was a problem but it was.

We are sorry to hear that this job was not the best fit for you, and we recognize that there is a lot of information being shared in the interview process. However, we pride ourselves in open communication. We strive to make sure that applicants understand that though we value customer service, this is not a customer service job. Instead, though it is not cold calling, it is telemarketing. We go on to send sample calls, a video to watch and ask again in the interview if this message is clear. Though we recognize there may be a lot of information, we do believe that all of those means of communication are more than substantial to communicate the type of position. Here is the video we share with all new applicants: https://www.cubbyusercontent.com/pl/Instant+Meeting+2015-11-30+(8).webm/_31818020ccd64ec3813b6cc9ef598095. We recognize that this job may not be the best fit for everyone. However, we strive to set realistic expectations, our managers value a family focused environment and upper management sees representatives as people and not just numbers. Finally, each person is responsible for maintaining their own computer and internet service. Our dialer is highly compatible with Mac products. However, the speed of your internet, your processor speed and the ability to troubleshoot technology problems will all determine whether your system is compatible with our dialer. We have many employees who are Mac users and have never complained of issues with our software and their computer.
