Pros

It feeds the kids and pays the house payment

Cons

People at the corporate office are trying to run something they don't have a clue about. The pay is a joke. If you don't have enough staff for a shift its too bad because Corizon does not want overtime. The nurses experience burn out fast. Corizon is very reactive instead of proactive.

Pros

Corporate is very professional when they perform site visits. Working with people in HR at the corporate level is outstanding. I have found everyone from Regional and beyond to be extraordinary.

Cons

The actual work site is ridiculous. The HSA is incompetent and out of touch with the needs of the staff. There are constant threats of corrective action for minor infractions. There is no opportunity given for educating or coaching the staff only threats of write-ups. Although I believe corporate is very competent they do not observe enough. They leave the reins in the hands of imbeciles who have no clue as to how to treat people or how to talk to people. Confidentiality is out the window. If you talk to the DON you might as well stand in the middle of the floor and yell out all of your business. Only until a corporate figure which we fell in love with showed up and started changing and updating things while the HSA was on medical leave did the atmosphere change. If corporate had any sense they would make a position change for someone that can effectively lead this work site.

Utter frustration & disapointment

Pros

I would say the best thing about working with this company were the employees and co-workers at the site and other facilities that you got to know thru trainings and meetings. There were also HR staff in the St. Louis Office who were amazing and supportve.

Cons

Lack of Regional Office contact, they only showed up on site when something was wrong...presuming there was a assigned Regional Manager to your region, a pay scale that was far short from other companies and thus high turn over rate for the field staff (MHP, SA, MA, RN, LPN, AA, C.N.A., etc), lack of training for the individuals who would be taking on the roll of site medical director or lead dentist, as well as no sense of unity or loyalty between regions within a contracted state, a general failure to support employees and ready to write people up or threaten termination at the drop of a hat. Everyday felt like going into a battle zone...as if working in a prison or jail setting wasn't heard enough!
