Over the past few months, Sharecare has worked tirelessly to answer what our CEO, Jeff Arnold, characterizes as our most important call to date: to empower people to stay safe against the threat of the global pandemic, while equipping our employer and health plan partners to work toward recovery and build resilience as a key component of their comprehensive well-being strategies. We’re proud that our teams have not only delivered on this in incredibly innovative ways, but also created some of the digital health industry’s best work in the process. As the winners of 13 Spring 2020 Digital Health Awards, including four top honors for content, resources and programs developed in rapid response to COVID-19, we couldn’t be prouder of our employees and the impact of their dedication.
With stress at an all-time high in the U.S., many people are adopting new habits to cope they wouldn’t normally – like drinking, smoking and eating more, while sleeping and exercising less. Through our acquisition of MindSciences, we’re taking a proactive step to help our users tap into the power of their own minds to reclaim their well-being. Learn more about our suite of app-based programs now available to help people stop smoking, reduce food-related cravings and manage anxiety.
At Sharecare, we’re fiercely passionate about helping organizations develop data-driven strategies to positively impact not only the well-being of their populations, but also the broader communities in which they live, work and play. Through our new partnership with National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions – which consists of dozens of regional healthcare groups that provide health coverage to over 41 million Americans – we’ll work together with employers to understand and act on data from our Community Well-Being Index to determine the best well-being strategies to improve workforce health and resiliency, gain access to community resources, and invest in solutions that benefit all. As a Georgia-grown company, we’re deeply committed to the health of our state – whether helping people improve their overall well-being or empowering them to flatten the curve of the pandemic. To that end, we’ve joined forces with Augusta University and Augusta University Health to launch WellBeingGeorgia.com, an online hub for all state residents to easily access the latest developments, medically verified guidance, and tools for #COVID19 – including access to AU’s telehealth service that rapidly assesses risk and points people to one of more than 100 test sites across Georgia. For more details, including perspective from Gov. Kemp on the importance of this partnership, check out the press release below.

As the novel coronavirus threatens our communities, we’re proud to help the Atlanta Police Department maintain its track record of public safety in the city by doing our part to protect the well-being of its 1,850 sworn officers. In the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Sharecare founder and CEO Jeff Arnold and Atlanta Police Foundation president and CEO Dave Wilkinson explain how APD’s pandemic protocols and tech-enabled tools – including Sharecare Virtual Care, which provides officers with immediate access to ER physicians and real-time testing for COVID-19 – are arming these first responders with resources to stay safe on the job while protecting their families and colleagues too. In a virtual “hackathon,” we recently challenged students at UNC-Chapel Hill to create data-driven solutions for issues impacting the health of N.C. communities. After a 48-hour whirlwind, we’re proud to say the Tar Heels rose to the occasion! Read more on how these students used our proprietary data sets – including data from the Sharecare Community Well-Being Index – to imagine locally driven solutions for issues like food insecurity, access to healthcare and education, economic stability and more.
As essential workers, law enforcement officers are critical to helping us protect the safety and well-being of our communities, yet their duties often puts their own health and well-being at risk. Now, COVID-19 has posed an additional challenge to our police officers: While many of us shelter in place, these frontline workers remain on the ground protecting us despite the threat of the novel coronavirus. That’s why we’ve teamed up with the Atlanta Police Foundation to protect and serve sworn officers of the Atlanta Police Department with Sharecare Virtual Care – a new telehealth solution that rapidly triages suspected COVID-19 symptoms and connects them with care coordinators and board-certified ER physicians virtually to receive testing and treatment, and arrange in-person appointments all at their convenience. Just imagine if businesses, organizations and institutions throughout your community could use their footprint as places you could seek care immediately. As people across the U.S. are sheltering in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we’re using digital technology to accomplish this virtually with our new conversational AI-based chatbot screener. Available for any organization to embed on their webpage at no cost and with ease, this clinically validated solution helps people self-screen for COVID-19 quickly and determine whether they need to go to the emergency room, consult a medical professional, or stay home and monitor symptoms. By making this resource available to people in the “online” places they live, work and play, we aim to make accessing medical attention easier than ever and minimize the burdens on hospital systems and healthcare providers fighting COVID-19 on the frontlines. One of our company’s greatest aspirations is to create healthy communities everywhere, and the Blue Zones Project by Sharecare is one of many ways we work to achieve this vision. For more than a decade, the Blue Zones Project has helped re-imagine 51 communities as cultures of well-being – impacting 3.4 million people – by engaging local leaders, businesses and citizens to make the healthy choice the easy choice in the places they live, work and play. Now, we’re excited to work with Adventist Health following its acquisition of our collaborating partner, Blue Zones. After witnessing the Project’s results across the U.S., Adventist Health has extended the Blue Zones Project partnership and its CEO, Scott Reiner, is excited to join us in transforming communities for years to come.
