Today, we released an initial analysis of our “Flatten the Curve” survey, which garnered more than 115,000 responses in April. Over the coming weeks and months, we are working with our partners at the Boston University School of Public Health to leverage this data, collected at further scale, to fully contextualize COVID-19’s impact on our well-being and to empower people to join us in protecting the future health and resiliency of our communities. The survey is one of many ways that Sharecare is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Read our official announcement below to learn more. For more information about Flatten the Curve, including a dashboard of select survey results, visit sharecare.com/surveyresults. You also can share your voice – take the survey now at sharecare.com/survey.
What does COVID-19 mean for the future of healthcare? In a watershed moment, our founder and CEO Jeff Arnold sits down with Healthcare Weekly to explain how the digital health paradigm is shifting from “Blockbuster to Netflix” at warp speed. Known for his epic shots on the court, Atlanta Hawks star and Sharecare ambassador John Collins is making a splash with another kind of “shot” off-court – this time, helping us provide immunity-boosting juice shots from Kale Me Crazy to healthcare workers and first responders fighting COVID-19 across Atlanta. Our “Shots for Heroes” initiative is rallying the community to supply more than 600 super juice shots daily to workers at local hospitals and the City of Atlanta Police Department as a token of thanks for keeping us safe and well. Thanks to the generosity of neighbors, friends and partners like John and the Hawks Foundation, our initiative is reaching even more healthcare professionals and first responders with a little “boost” for their immune systems and their spirits. Read more about “Shots for Heroes” initiative and how you can join us in sharing care with these special hometown heroes.
Based on 75K+ responses to our "Flatten the Curve" survey, more than 42% of Americans feel that the pandemic has negatively affected their healthcare access in some way, with nearly 60% noting they would still want to access care with their primary physician if they experienced COVID-19 symptoms. Additionally, the U.S. faces serious healthcare access challenges apart from novel coronavirus with 33% of all counties in the U.S. having only one M.D. per 2,000 residents; 44% of all counties without a pediatrician; and 48% with no OB-GYN. In an effort to help practitioners better support their patients’ well-being during #COVID19, we have launched a new telehealth platform - and are making it available free of charge through September 1, 2020 to healthcare providers in the U.S. that sign up by June 1. Read more in our official announcement and let's keep working together - while apart - to stay well and flatten the curve.
We announced the public launch of a national survey developed in partnership with Dr. Sandro Galea, dean of the Boston University School of Public Health, to better understand community well-being and behavior change during the COVID-19 pandemic. Promoted in collaboration with Publicis Health Media (PHM), Sharecare’s “Flatten the Curve” survey is one of several initiatives we’re leading to respond to the rapidly changing needs of consumers during this time. Together, we can better understand changes in people’s well-being and behaviors in the wake of the pandemic like sleep, relationships, financial management and more, and ultimately help protect the future health and resiliency of our communities.
