Consultants Marcus Holzer and Yuliya Salo discuss how working with senior-level clients has meant a lot for both personal development and professional growth as transformation leaders.
Welcome to New York! Delighted that Ross Venus has joined our NYC hub on secondment from London, where he’ll continue to partner with global clients on challenging, complex transformations.
Our first away weekend in three years finally took place in beautiful York. We were lucky enough to stay at The Grand York Hotel and had a fun filled agenda of activities, spa treatments, dinners, and magic tricks (performed by our multi-talented partners!). It was the perfect way to get the London and New York offices together in one location to reconnect and socialise as one firm. We were also able to get an updated group picture of the whole firm which we haven’t had since 2019!
Berkeley’s diversity, equity and inclusion vision statement. Our vision has been developed to give us a clear and guiding ambition for our firm. Because achieving it will help Berkeley be the best it can be… in working with our clients, in ensuring our people flourish, in running our business, and in making a positive contribution to our communities. We want... ...To be recognised by ourselves and those around us as a diverse and inclusive company that attracts, retains and develops diverse talent, where differences are harnessed, opportunity is equitable and where people feel safe to be their whole self. ‘Those around us’ includes our clients, our prospective recruits, our suppliers, our professional network, as well as our families and friends.
We offer our people many mental health and wellbeing benefits, including free private sessions with psychologists through HelloSelf – providing a neutral space for our people to discuss how they are doing both professionally and personally. HelloSelf has also delivered a Self-Esteem and Imposter Syndrome webinar for our office, which highlighted the internalised psychological doubt individuals can experience even when they have high accomplishments. The health and wellbeing of our people is our top priority so sharing webinars like these and having open, honest discussions as colleagues has been incredibly valuable.
Prominent UK charity Comic Relief has sought support from The Berkeley Partnership on its new strategy. The firm will work on a pro-bono basis in support of the charity’s aims to tackle poverty and inequality in the UK and around the world. Ahead of the charity’s current five-year strategy drawing to an end in 2022, Berkeley will help Comic Relief on the next stage of its journey. The engagement will seek to help shape a clear and practical strategy, design an effective target operating model, and develop a roadmap for delivery.
We’re delighted our partner Richard Marsden has been able to attend COP26, supporting this vital work on climate action. Berkeley is proud to partner with our clients to turn their sustainability ambitions into real results.
We recently relaunched our Women@Berkeley Network, with a key focus on supporting both Berkeley’s DE&I commitments and our women’s personal and professional development. Our partners Sameera Simjee and Mark Stafford are sponsoring the initiative, which our consultants Anne-Lise Antolinos and Jenna Goldstein are currently leading. Sameera explains why the time was right to reinvigorate the network and what Berkeley’s people want it to achieve. https://lnkd.in/eMtYr8Aw
The New York office managed to get out of the city and to the beautiful Harbor View Hotel in Martha’s Vineyard for their annual away weekend. It was a refreshing taste of normality for the team with activities, dinners and picturesque scenery. A well deserved break!
We are delighted to announce Sameera Simjee and Christopher Southwell will be joining the partner group here at The Berkeley Partnership. A few words from them in celebration of this achievement. Sameera: “Berkeley is a truly unique organisation, from the way we value our people as individuals to how we work with our clients to foster deep and trusted relationships. Having worked across a spectrum of challenging and rewarding engagements, I’m delighted to be joining the partnership and taking the opportunity to continue to evolve our firm.” Chris: “ I am delighted to join the Partnership and proud to be part of a consultancy firm which truly puts people at the heart of everything that we do, both internally by supporting and growing our people through the variety of challenging and interesting work, whilst focusing on being by our clients side at the right time. I love working with a group of diverse, talented and engaging individuals and I am excited about Berkeley’s future."
