Pros

Everyone at the company has a sincere desire to help others The option to work remotely Positive mission to help mental health providers Generous PTO The Product Manager hired this year has been a real game changer. She knows her stuff and assuming she gets the resources she needs to make her product improvement plans happen, the product will be a lot better over time.

Cons

Small company with less than 20 employees People get promoted to manager because they got there first not necessarily because they are good at their jobs. The product feels like it was slapped together with $2 and a paper clip at times and no one but the engineers in Belarus understand fully how it works, and sometimes even they don't know. The CEO is pretty clumsy with HR matters. He is the HR dept and he's not skilled in this area so if you have an HR issue come up you're on your own. He publicly teases people (thinking he is funny but no one laughs) at company meetings and made me very uncomfortable at times. I don't think he realizes he has this affect on people and he seems like a good guy, albeit one with a fragile ego. He's also not accountable to anyone but himself for his behavior which is sometimes harsh. More than a year into working at the company he told me he was disappointed with hiring me but when I pressed him for details on what could be done to improve or what I had done wrong he wouldn't give specifics. He did say he didn't like that I took a medical leave without concern for the affect on the team. It was a leave ordered by my physician in writing not something I planned on taking and at the time he expressed support. I obviously didn't plan on being sick. (Days before he said this to me my direct supervisor had complimented me on my productivity and positive contribution to the team.) He also wanted me to take over all of the training and support documentation for the whole company without a requisite salary increase. He said his wouldn't be a promotion but something I would do "to help the company out." I believe I offended him by trying to negotiate a fair salary and he fired me a few days later out of the blue with no clear explanation. To be fair he did provide two weeks severance.

As CEO at TheraNest, reading this was quite upsetting. It seemed very unfair to team mates who tried so hard to make this position work for you. It contained accounts that were half truths or outrightly false. But after thinking about it, I feel as though I failed you and should have listened to the early signs. It's the way you saw it. Your perspective, whether true or not, matters and we should have communicated with you better. You're the first full time employee to leave TheraNest, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, even with our very rapid team growth. It's a new experience for us and we are learning from it. We will take this, look critically at the points you made and improve. We are growing rapidly and that has its challenges. We are very thankful for the many positive reviews from our customers who love our software and remain our focus and the reason for our growth. We also continue to improve as a team and as individuals. We are always committed to that. I'm sorry things didn't work out for you here but truly wish you all the best.

Pros

The only reason to work here that I can come up with is to get paid while you are looking for another job.

Cons

It is by far the most toxic work environment I have ever encountered in more than 20 years of working. Senior leadership puts an inordinate amount of pressure on employees to perform, when Therapy Brands has the most inept onboarding processes in place. There is ZERO product training, and I was actually told, "you don't have to know the product to sell it, That's what the demo guy is for." Unlimited PTO isn't really that- they won't let you take it when you want, and it's only a policy so they won't have to pay you vacation time when you leave. It also helps the company win the superficial "awards" for best employer. It's all a farce and HR is paid to rebut the negative reviews with it's canned responses. Customers constantly complain about support issues, yet nothing is being done behind the scenes to resolve those issues.

Therapy Brands' most important stakeholders are our customers and our employees. We are sorry that your experience has not aligned with our company goals to create an environment where our team members thrive. As you may be a current employee, we want to offer you some options for getting the training you desire. There are training sessions held weekly for all Account Executives. There is also a comprehensive onboarding program for all sales team members that includes product training, sales tool training, and general selling skills training. Additionally, the solutions consultants and the many tenured Account Executives can be paired with you to help you better understand our products and help you be successful in your role. Please take advantage of the many development programs offered by speaking with your Sales Director. Regarding our culture, it is the hallmark of our organization. We are proud of the recognition and awards received from our continuous focus on our team members. Besides unlimited PTO, the company offers 11 paid holidays, paid volunteer days, a comprehensive benefits package, and numerous recognition promotions. Besides investing in our team members, we have significantly invested in our products and service capabilities to continue to add value to our more than 30,000 customers. We are a growth company, and the most successful team members have the desire to grow with us, advancing their personal and professional goals. We wish you well and hope that you will seek to take advantage of the many development and engagement options available to help you reach your goals.

Pros

Smart and motivated people who are some of the best the industry has to offer.

Cons

Vile and unknowledgeable upper management that gets in the way of implementing improvements and slows down or interrupts daily operations because they don't understand the business and are too egotistical to admit it. Those who work with customers and are solutioning issues are shutdown during times of decision making. This often leads to misses because those working day in and day out are not consulted to understand our basic operations. Ineffective leadership are promoted when it's recognized they have no idea what they're doing when really they should be demoted or fired. Instead, they slap a new and improved job title on them, call it a promotion and move the problem onto another team leaving the previous team wondering how they heck can you actually do good work and succeed here. Maybe we should all play dumb and call the knowledgeable and truly hard workers "difficult to work with" or "negative" so we can succeed too.
