      Once Great Place, Now Toxic

      Pros

      Top product on the market in a strong industry. Well paying and good work-life balance. Good benefits.

      Cons

      Culture has completely flipped. Once a great place to work is now cutthroat and toxic. Leadership places blame on employees and will quickly fire/layoff with no responsibility taken. CRO has skated by for quarters of bad performance and new CMO is unprofessional, rude and fake. CMO has only been there a few months and has already lost the team.

      Constant Churn & Low Participation Rates

      Pros

      Really nice people who believe in not working too hard to insure work life balance. Not great for commissioned roles or bonuses, but great for someone looking for 30-40 hour a week of low stress work.

      Cons

      Gross over hiring and poor field sales/channel/marketing strategy has resulted in under 10% of reps hitting their targets. Getting by on a few reps pulling in large deals to save the quarter. Constant churn and turn over is resulting in no sustained success. Poor environment for sales. Push back or try to hold people accountable you'll get fired for not doing things the Expel way.

      Dave Merk is a legend

      Cons

      No job security. Company grossly overhired then kicked its best employees to the curb, regardless of performance as some of the highest performing employees were laid off over the weaker ones. Lots of politics involved. Don’t recommend this as a place to work as there is zero stability. Also a highly competitive market which makes it difficult to stand up against the competition
