Pros

There are no Pros to working for Foley Carrier Services.

Cons

Foley has a very high turnover of employees and middle management. Rules and policies are made up on the fly and are not enforced by or for everyone. Middle management is not trained on how to manage employees and adequately answer client related questions. There is a divide between service and sales from the top to the bottom and employees who are dealing directly with customers are often left in the middle. The sales commission structure has changed many times limiting the ability to ever make what was advertised in the interview. Many employees are on state assistance or have a second job. Management spends more time in meetings behind doors trash talking their employees than working together for positive solutions.

Pros

They did offer me a position when I needed one and was getting discouraged. In the beginning, management was very kind and supportive, and many of my coworkers were pleasant and a pleasure to work with. Certain ones were also very encouraging and reassuring in the beginning when you feel overwhelmed. Very educational in teaching me about an industry I originally knew nothing.

Cons

They pay rate is not nearly as much as it should be considering the work they expect of you, and the benefits and health insurance they offer are some of the worst I have ever had. Your work-life balance is non-existant. They expect your job to be your whole life. You easily get burnt out and frustrated to the point of having a nervous breakdown, and the higher ups couldn't care less. You go to them about your issues, and they imply that you are lying or that it is in your head, and everything is really fine. Furthermore, they also go out of your way to make you look unbalanced or incompetent at your job or in life. There is a lot of backstabbing and two-faced behavior. It's really sad when you go to work and feel like you need to be watching your back the same way you would in a slum. They work harder at denying you raises and promotions than they do at actually rewarding your work and loyalty with such. The last performance reviews virtually no one got a raise, and then pulled us into meetings saying our lack of raises was our fault. The customers are extremely uneducated and, frankly, stupid, about the industry, even though they own their own motor carrier businesses and should be more knowledgable. They break regulations or do not know policies after being in the business for 5,10, or 15 years and call in saying it's our fault. Higher ups pander to them in ways I've never seen (and I've worked customer service jobs before this). Many of the customers simply call in as a reflex, and if they simply read their mail or did a Google search, the call could have been avoided. They are trying to go green, but are so inept at using the computer systems that errors are constantly being made, and creating more phone calls. They are also known for not paying vendors as we constantly got calls from them angrily wondering why we weren't paying our bills. Customers even call sometimes because vendors refuse to service our clients until certain bills are taken care of. If you work in Customer Service, you will be required to do every department's job for them, making you wonder why they even have seperate departments. Never in my life have I worked a job like that. And for the record, most of the recent positive reviews sound very much like higher ups or "yes people" trying to make a job look better than it is. The bottom line: Avoid this job like the plague. People's behavior there borders on psychological torture.

Pros

Upper management is somewhat professional but they are trying hard and I would thank each and every one for giving me an opportunity.

Cons

Wondering why I left this job? I started this job because at one point of time I wasn't getting any job so I had no choice but to take this job. After starting my work it was all good and it went with a great flow. Somehow from January things started to get bad. I used to work all day and I did not even take any breaks in between but somehow my surrounding co-workers will give me a lot of work and they would just gossip in the back with other supervisors and I felt very awkward seeing those. People in this company don’t know why they are here and why they are even doing this. Some people are just 2 face people sometimes they are very nice and sometimes they won't talk with you at all. The pay is absolutely ridiculous $$$$$13.000 per hr. and the work just keeps adding on. We are all human beings and working more than 8 hrs. is very stressful. There is no personal life whatsoever, these people just wants eveybody to work as a slave. Just work and work. Some people get very personal with your life and give lectures and thinking like they care so much for you. Too much show off For: (Ex: I am a very good student I get all A’s in school) Question is that then why are you working in FOLEY? Very poor benefits and very poor compensation. ****Some people came from real bad background so you better be careful on who you are hanging out. Management is trying hard to change things around but after working for this organization certain people those who left the company feels that no matter how much changes these upper management people makes it will still be the same. I am a college graduate and I felt that this is not the place for me. There is no growth in this company at all. People who are working in this company for 7-8 yrs. are still doing DATA ENTRY. Some people claims that they get a lot of money HA HA HA!!! What Fools!!!!! If the office is closed during snow times the co-workers don't even get paid LOL!!!. All these people are emotional fools!!! I might be mean but read the reviews on Google. A lot of people has real bad things to say about this company and so am I. I resigned by Jan end and no one would even talk with me and people started giving me attitude. I am not taking this no more and didn't want to deal with all these silly people. So, I moved out. Let this people do all the work. Lower management is very unprofessional and full of drama like High School people. BEWARE!!!!!! College Graduates keep looking for other jobs this place is not for you. College Graduates like us can do much better. A lot of people left and quit this job within 2 months. People like us those who are well educated and from good background don't stick around at this company too long.
