Biased Management with Lack of Integrity

Pros

Salary Compensation and Benefits Decent.

Cons

Management promotes and shows favoritism to employees who are only good talkers but lack action, production and proficiency. Meanwhile the employees who are dedicated, hard working and loyal are overlooked for promotions and opportunities to grow or be recognized resulting low motivation for those employees. Both Management and HR will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat if it serves their purpose.

I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience. That’s certainly not our intent or desire! We’ve recognized some of the shifts that needed to be made and have been making great strides in improving along the way. We work hard to make sure our employees are treated fairly and rewarded justly, and that people are hired and promoted into jobs based on experience, skill and knowledge.

Pros

Some lovely professional coworkers that genuinely care. Decent benefits.

Cons

Salary $70K below industry standards and $60K below area. Expected to be on call evenings, weekends and on PTO for under $50K. And don't get sick or God forbid a disease or after treatment they won't let you come back until legal is involved and then when you're back they do their best to make sure you feel unwelcome and the entire office feels stressed, knowing when we get sick, it will happen to us. Reviews done by email and management tells you no one can score over 3, even if they're going above and beyond.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. The situations you describe certainly do not reflect Invitation Homes values and our commitment to treating our associates with respect and care. We encourage you to reach out to the new leadership in the Charlotte office, your HR partner or our ethics hotline. Like you, we believe that associates should be fairly compensated, and we benchmark salaries to ensure that we can attract and retain top talent. We also share your view that employees should have a work-life balance. While the nature of our business requires that we are available to residents in so-called "off hours," we expect that our field offices plan, staff and schedule employee hours accordingly. In addition, all associates have medical leave and competitive health insurance benefits. We are committed to living up to our values -- including Genuine Care -- and we look forward to resolving the issues you raise

Pros

Benefits are okay. 401k matching is okay. The coffee is free. It's possible that you will make a friend or two amidst the negativity.

Cons

Here's some advice for those thinking about pursuing a career with Invitation Homes: don't. Seriously. No amount of money would make this hell hole of a company tolerable. Although it's likely that they aren't offering you much money in the first place, which makes your decision that much easier. Walk away. Now. Every negative review that you read here is completely accurate, and the majority of the positive reviews are absolutely fake - commonly being published after another round of layoffs to combat the inevitable influx of negative reviews. I cannot even come close to overstating the toxicity of the environment here. Some of the rudest, most unprofessional and manipulative people that I have ever had the misfortune of working with have been put in positions of power. Any good morale that ever existed has been completely sucked out of the office - teamwork and collaboration are nonexistent as this company has been reduced to an "every man for himself" environment. Be prepared to play the blame game and to have fingers pointed at you, because this environment is non-conducive to actual problem solving. Rather, most find that their time is better spent passive-aggressively CC'ing upper management on trivial issues and passing the buck on to someone else in order to avoid having to do any actual work. Don't be surprised if you are forbidden from interacting with other departments. Don't be surprised if you go years without a performance review or a raise. Don't be surprised if management starts rumors about you and accuses you of wrongdoing without having any basis whatsoever. And then doubles down on accusations even after you've provided irrefutable proof against them. Corporate HR has completely abandoned the Bellevue branch because it's too far gone. There is no saving this branch unless they decide to address the actual problems and start cleaning house to get rid of the negativity. I've spelled out the problem for you here. If you decide to continue down the road with IH, you won't get any sympathy from me when it all hits the fan. If you value your dignity, your time, and your sanity you should stay far, far away from Invitation Homes.
