Pros

The staff (MDs, RNs, CNAs, housekeeping, volunteers) are dedicated, kind, intelligent and unified in their purpose. As a Registered Nurse this is the most wonderful group of clinical professionals I have ever worked with.

Cons

Extreme micromanagement Volatility in management Constantly changing expectations staff are held accountable to at random Staff treated like objects who can be manipulated whimsically Frequent flexing of staff, at times up to 50% of shifts for CNAs No accountability for management Unsafe medication documentation system creating an unsafe practice environment for nurses

Pros

Values in action Excellent pay Excellent paid time off Opportunities for professional development Encourage employee participation in decision making

Cons

Management and front-line staff not held accountable for poor or mediocre performance. All employees will have to hear about it if something is done wrong, rather than the specific employee who is to blame. Sometimes the culture of being nice impedes accountability.

Pros

I've worked with some great people who assumed good intentions and were committed to delivering exceptional care. There are are many long-term employees who like working for Legacy. Since it is just big enough (although not a Providence Health), there are opportunities to expand your career once you get to know people. I would recommend working here.

Cons

Like anywhere else you work, your job satisfaction will depend on how supportive your leader is. It can be big enough where there is breakdown in communication and coordination of resources. Also, the hospitals all have different organizational cultures. Pay can often be less than local healthcare competitors for non-clinical jobs. Medical/dental benefits cannot compare to Kaiser.
