Pros

You work 8 hours and the lunch is paid - that would be the only benefit.

Cons

Terrible, self centered management. You get promoted if you in the clique with the management - you get there by gossiping, tell on your fellow coworkers, attend every event. You don't even have to work hard as long as you follow their lead you will get promoted. Extremely high turnaround rate of admin employees and if you office is short you are pressured to stay extra hours to cover with no help and no break. If you by yourself and step away to the restroom and phone is unanswered, you get written up! Constantly threatened of being written up for anything. They ask for a lot and pay the minimum wage.

Pros

It was my first job out of college... I learned a lot, the good, the BAD, the REALLY BAD, and then the REALLY UGLY (practices) of the business. A holiday party at the end of the year that's nice, and some events for employees to get to know each other in a social gathering, but now that the company has become a 7/11 I doubt they're doing these events as often.

Cons

30 - 35 patients PER SHIFT, 2 shifts each day. 7-2 and 1-8, no lunch break allowed, stuff your mouth with a sandwich and get back on the floor!!! WE DEFINITELY BILLED THINGS WE DID NOT PERFORM, STOP DENYING THIS!!! IT's not legal and you guys will eventually get caught and sued (Again). ATC starting Salary 35K (with or without a master's degree) it's embarrassing, PT's starting salary 55K, also embarrassing and well below what it should be for the number of patients and the $$$$$$$$$ amount this company sucks out of everything and everyone. How does a company grow from a few locations to 63 in less than a decade??? BY "SQUEEZING juice out of a rock" (these are the words of one of the partners I'm quoting) I would NEVER work there again, ever...

Thank you for your review. We are happy to let you know that we are in fact still maintaining the many wonderful social events held by Professional! We have our amazing year end holiday party, our billiards event, bowling event, and a summer outing for employees and their families – and those are just the events for the entire company! There are many regional events held as well, keeping us as a family, not just a business. That culture stems from senior management all the way down through each and every clinic. That ”family” culture also extends to our patient care and customer service. With regard to the number of patients seen in a day, that truly varies by clinic and we staff accordingly based on patient need. When a patient shows up too early or too late, we do consider the patients first and try out best to accommodate them into a schedule. Many patients are post-surgery, in pain and have difficulty getting around. We understand that and whenever possible fit them into our already busy schedules. At Professional, the patient does come first. We staff each location based on the potential workload so whenever possible, we can accommodate such instances. Additionally, a 7 hour shift is the norm. If you look at any corporate 9-5 job, that is an 8 hour day with one hour break for lunch. We are simply allowing our staff to have that lunch break either before or after their shift. That is not to say that people don’t have a snack in between patients. Majority of our staff prefers this versus staying an extra hour just so they can have an official lunch break. Furthermore, it is against our policies to incorrectly bill for work completed. We have policies, procedures and audits in place, as well as a compliance hotline available 24 hours and 7 days a week, providing anyone with the opportunity to report any concerns and violations. And lastly, pay grades may start at a lower level, but ask anyone who has been with the company for awhile, in a very short time employees that put in the effort and quality care are recognized, quickly promoted, and that factor becomes non-existent. We provide an abundance of opportunities for development, growth, and training within the company and provide excellent benefits. Pros

Staff (at the location I was at) was very nice, very knowledgeable. Working with and seeing patients progress is a very rewarding feeling.

Cons

No big surprise here, Its a big company. Like any big company, this one is just like the rest of them. Employees not earning what they deserve and being forced to work less hours to maintain Part-time status. No such thing as patient management. If a patient is two hours early then Pro PT will take said patient two hours early, even if the therapist on duty already is juggling 6 patients in the gym. Its more about seeing as many patients as possible and less about making sure the patients are getting quality care. This is an epidemic in the medical field in general and not just a special disease Pro PT has. Don't let big medical conglomerates fool you when they say its about quality of care... In big business its about QUANTITY and the BOTTOM LINE.

Thank you for your review. We agree that working with, and seeing patients progress through their treatment is indeed very rewarding. We are proud of our knowledgeable (and friendly) staff and the added educational value we provide to our staff. With regard to some of your other comments, it’s like the old adage about some seeing the glass half empty vs. others seeing it half full. Pay grades may start at a lower level; however Professional also offers a great work environment, superb clinical training, excellent benefits, and rapid career growth opportunities. If you ask anyone who has been with the company for awhile, in a very short time those that put in the effort and quality care are recognized as well as rewarded, and the pay factor becomes non-existent.
