Pros

I did meet a lot of wonderful people, but very few of them were in upper management.

Cons

Expected to work 12 to 14 hours a day, 6 days a week, which wouldn't be bad...if you didn't get paid a salary. They take serious advantage of their salaried employees. Hit and miss with management at the site level. Worked for 2 great Project Managers, but the 3rd was so ineffectual that it was pathetic. Same with the Construction Managers and the Project Engineers. Hires some employees and puts them in positions they are unqualified for simply because they are the significant other of someone else. Director of Construction didn't have a clue what was going on half the time and would often change policies to get more production while sacrificing safety and quality. Serious disconnect between corporate and site management. Rewards bad behavior and punishes good behavior, then cannot understand why people are leaving. High turnaround. Company always seemed to be having cash flow problems because bills to certain vendors were always late, which meant we couldn't get materials at the job site level. Then got mad at the sites because we couldn't finish things. Company states...Safety, Quality, Production...but it's more like...Production, Production, Production. Who cares about the Cost of Safety or Cost of Quality.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We’re glad you had the chance to work with some of our awesome people and we’re sorry you had an experience so inconsistent with the culture of safety and care that we strive for at RES. We encourage any employee who has an experience that does not fall in line with our values to speak up, no matter their position or work location.

Pros

Collaborative team atmosphere, smart employees willing to teach and share, values-driven company culture.

Cons

Lack of transparency, increasingly hierarchical and centralized decision making (UK), chaos and constant reorganization + layoffs, decreasing competitiveness in industry due to high margin expectations.

Thank you for your open and honest review. We’re happy to hear you had a chance to work with the many great people at RES and be part of the team atmosphere we’re working hard to nurture. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without, as you say, “smart employees willing to teach and share.” This is a challenging time for our industry as a whole, with many companies having to evolve quickly to meet the pace of change. We’re lucky to have so many dedicated people working together in line with our values to drive RES forward, and we have every confidence that we’re equal to the challenges of the present moment.
