Pros

Free food. And 1 Manager.

Cons

I recently worked at ShipMonk and I must say that it was one of the most horrendous experiences of my professional life. This company lacks any sense of values or ethics, and the leadership team simply doesn't care about their employees. One of the major issues at ShipMonk is the overwhelming workload coupled with inadequate compensation. You are constantly overworked and underpaid, which creates an incredibly stressful environment. It seems like the company expects its employees to give their all without providing fair compensation in return. Furthermore, there is a complete lack of appreciation for hard work and dedication. Instead of recognizing and rewarding employees who go above and beyond, ShipMonk has a history of firing those who put in extra effort. It's disheartening to see that the company punishes hard work rather than encouraging and supporting it. Respect is also a rare commodity at ShipMonk. The higher-ups treat their employees with disdain and disregard. There is a noticeable lack of open communication and transparency, which contributes to a toxic work culture. It's demoralizing to work for a company where your voice is ignored, your opinions are dismissed, and your contributions are undervalued. In summary, I would strongly advise against joining ShipMonk. It is a company that lacks integrity, has no regard for its employees' well-being, and fails to foster a respectful and supportive work environment. There are far better options out there that will value your hard work and provide a more fulfilling professional experience.

Pros

minimal pros to be honest, One pro is that there is vertical mobility if you have experience already, but youll be moving to the top of a complete mess of a company

Cons

disorganized, no vision. no structure. benefits are trash. Reorganizing their entire structure on a regular basis. Leadership thinks that hiring more executives and doing 30 title changes is what will fix everything (and then they wonder why they are struggling and have to lay people off). Beyond that, I learned that I would have had to have worked there for 5 years in order to get my 401k contribution match... the company itself is like 10 years old. There are only a handful of people who have worked there longer than 5 years, and the employee turnover is insane. Can only imagine how many people got screwed over by this. Also they are cheap. They refuse to buy any decent software to work with. Zero of the company's departments have state of the art software, unless you consider ShipMonk proprietary software state of the art. Dont expect to travel in style either unless you're on the exec team. Even VPs of this company fly economy Spirit (or whatever is cheapest).

Pros

1. Strong team culture that had been built over the years 2. Fast-moving environment with exposure to complex logistics operations 3. Some incredibly talented and supportive peers who made the work rewarding

Cons

1. The leadership shift in the past year severely disrupted team dynamics 2. Several experienced members were let go, leaving others fearing they could be next. While I left, it felt heavy and somewhat forced 3. Under the new leader, communication is cold, reactive, and lacking empathy. It's a pain to voice out, and recognition is rare unless you are within his small preferred group 4. Workload has ballooned, with priorities constantly shifting and little to no clarity on direction 5. Daily and monthly reporting and unrealistic demands have turned the team into an execution arm rather than a strategic function 6. The culture has eroded. People speak less, trust less, and worry more about missteps than doing great work 7. The team has evolved into something unrecognizable where roles have drifted so far from original scope that many feel unfit for what they were hired to do 8. Contributions are overlooked, while credit is funneled upward 9. Psychological safety has been replaced with fear of being next one out the door
