Next to no true mindshare in the IT space. Technology is aging and products have given up all ground to competitors and open source solutions. No true competitive edge in target markets. Old ideas, old product, old leadership. Not much in the way of career progression.

The parent company (in Westford, MA) is not good at retaining engineering talent, so you likely won't be working with "best of the best" engineers or anywhere close. Also, their engineering processes are severely broken to the point of creating a lot of quality issues, extra work, resource waste, and general headache.

Unless you are one of the chosen few at the top, you will NEVER be promoted beyond the position you are hired for. They DO NOT promote from within. You have employees that have been in the same positions for 20 years or more being managed by people who've been with the company for only a year or 2, and upper management expects the seasoned veterans to train their managers.

Very little innovation, very little internal communications, heavily hierarchical organization.
