Thank you for your feedback. I agree that we do have great people and an inspiring mission. Like many overachieving individuals and organization, the same drive that creates growth and opportunity can go too far and lead to burn out. The management team and I try to watch that carefully and to listen to any and all feedback from our team, and your note is a good reminder to continue to do so. Thanks again, Greg President & Co-Founder

Great People, Not So Great Place to Work

Pros

This company hires some of the smartest, kindest, and sharpest people. The majority of them are a joy to work with, and take immense pride in their jobs. I can't say enough about how great the people are. They also pushed me to be better and it showed.

Cons

1. No mobility. Promotions exist, but they are slight variations of the same work you are likely already doing, just with a different title. 2. Low pay. I know it's education, but I've worked in this industry for several years now and the pay is considerably lower than normal. 3. Lack of true management. You can sometimes get lucky and have a great manager, but management changes frequently, and coupled with the lack of career pathing and overall mobility, it's hard to really cultivate the true mentor-like relationship that should come from management. 4. Lack of transparency/trust. I know that this has been a work in progress, but I often felt kept in the dark until the very last minute, even when the changes directly impacted me and my job. 5. Lack of flexibility. If you work from home, you are granted a ton of flexibility but plenty of folks don't work from home and the in-office environment is less flexible compared to most other modern workplaces.

Tutor extortion

Pros

Always had students and plenty of hours

Cons

Paying tutors 20% of what the company charges is absurd and should be illegal. The average price per hour is 110$ and starting salary is 20$/hr for a tutor
