Pros

The company itself is not bad to work for, there are a few perks that are intriguing such as the Beer-Fridays and the social events that are held for the employee, and I should also add there is room for advancement.

Cons

However when the pay and benefits, there is a definite lack. At SimpliSafe we make around $2 per hour LESS than comparable jobs, and while the opportunity for OT is appreciated, I don’t think I am the only one who feels caught. In order to plan for our future we are forced to work way more hours than we really should have to because the rate of pay is so comparably low. Many people are leaving this job to go to other places because of this and it seems like company leadership is not listening to us when we individually express a need for higher pay. This is a major issue, that I wish would be addressed or at least discussed.

Pros

- Highly interactive environment with lots of opportunities to meet people - Management is *highly* flexible about folks taking time off for personal needs - Free beer on Fridays!

Cons

- LOW PAY! The current wage is capped at $13.50/hour. This isn't really a livable wage living in Boston. Most entry level jobs pay at least $15/hour simply because it's such an expensive place to be. Unlimited OT opportunities are nice, but you shouldn't *have* to work overtime to be able to save a little or even have a life outside of work. - Slacking is also tolerated to an absurdly high extent. Sometimes folks take 30+ minute breaks while clocked in, and no disciplinary action is ever taken other than a slap on the wrist. - Promotions are extremely political; you're more likely to move up if you're a friend of a current supervisor than if you actually work hard. - People are allowed to do jobs that they are not qualified for. Punctuation and grammar seen in emails by company employees is regularly atrocious. Some of these folks are great on the phones, but they shouldn't be allowed to write emails to customers.

Pros

SimpliSafe has been a great place to work and i am sad to leave. I have to move back home, but if I ever come back to Boston I would like to work here again. My friends on my team here were great. Overall people here are very friendly and will spend time together after work if you want to. Since I was new to Boston when I started, this was nice. I also feel I learned a lot and am better prepared for my next job.

Cons

The company is growing very quickly so people will get shuffled around sometimes. My closest friend who I sat next to was promoted and I missed him :) Loved my team, but it kept changing as new teams are created. You have to be okay with a certain amount of constant change.
