Pros

Company culture is empowering. Fast growing company with lots of opportunity. Leadership really seeks to understand. Pay is above average. Benefits are great. Team atmosphere regarding most things. You get to work with creative minds that challenge you to be better.

Cons

It is a fast moving company so for some people working hard, taking responsibility for their actions and being able to pivot and make decisions on their own is difficult. It’s worth it, but you have to be self motivated to want success, that isn’t a con exactly, but a transparent comment for anyone on the fence about it.

Pros

Up & coming company. If you’re lucky a good team & co-workers, manager. Always busy. Company wants to take care of employees. Does lots of marketing/advertising.

Cons

They don’t hire receptionists so they expect the colorists or the color assistants to be constantly interrupted (while already being booked every 15 minutes with color clients ) & expected to help everybody that walks in the door that wants to purchase color or retail or have questions/need consult or have returns etc. plus we also have to check in the clients and check them out as well. (Take their back photo on the iPad) although they do have the option to check themselves out on the app most do not. And there’s only one color assistant working at a time so you literally have to take down every single color with sometimes three colorists working it gets super busy plus you’re expected to squeeze in blow dries that do not account for the clients you’re supposed to shampoo during the time you are doing the blow dry. So logistics is quite a joke over there and it’s just stressful and you are physically exhausted during your shift and after your shift. To me it is not worth it. The colorists are the only ones who are making good tips You only get paid $2.50 for a blow dry and rarely does anyone tip you well if at all for a blowout. Any card tips go into your paycheck so you don’t cash out your tips at the end of your shift and you also get taxed on them. There’s a good chance you could be busting your butt all day on a Saturday and walk out with zero cash tips. Not worth the stress of it all and the long shifts. They also don’t take into account your lunches that are scheduled. You’re only get 30 minutes to begin with and a lot of times you’re booked with shampoos so you don’t even get to take your break or if you do it’s just here and there not an actual break. The job description does not include all the other assistant duties so apparently they forgot about those. You have to do basic stuff like clean the brushes constantly change out the blow dry station brush bins, keep up with laundry & dishwasher , stock color and retail, constantly disinfect shampoo areas, garbage, clean, While taking care of the client shampooing, Proboost deep conditioner, toners, taking down foils, blowouts, etc. That’s fine with all the multitasking but the extra responsibility of checking in and out clients and walking business makes it extremely overwhelming so that’s the downfall to this position IMO
